Fisheries Lab Coordination Meeting: Laboratory Head Organizes Marine Science Lecturers’ Practicum Schedule
Bengkulu, February 12, 2025 – In preparation for the new semester and to ensure the smooth running of academic activities, particularly those involving laboratory practicals, the Head of the Fisheries Laboratory for the Marine Science Study Program at the University of Bengkulu, Dr. Yar Johan, S.Pi., M.Si., chaired an important Coordination Meeting (Rakor) today. The meeting specifically discussed and established the division of the practicum schedule for all lecturers responsible for courses within the Marine Science Study Program.
The coordination meeting, which was attended by most of the Marine Science lecturers, focused on synchronizing workloads, allocating laboratory space, and determining practicum timings to avoid overlapping schedules between different courses. The Head of the Fisheries Laboratory emphasized the importance of efficiency and the equitable distribution of practical teaching duties among the academic staff.
“This schedule coordination is vital. By establishing a structured and balanced schedule, we ensure that all practical courses can run optimally, making maximum use of the laboratory facilities,” stated Dr. Yar Johan.
The result of this coordination meeting is the establishment of a detailed practicum schedule matrix, covering the responsible lecturer, the course, time allocation (hours and days), and the needs for Practicum Assistants (Co-As), which will soon be disseminated to both lecturers and students. This proactive step underscores the Marine Science Study Program’s commitment to maintaining the quality and standard of the students’ practical learning experience.
