The HIMA SYLVA of the Forestry Department, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu (UNIB) has successfully organized a Photography and Videography Workshop.

The Forestry Student Association (HIMA SYLVA PCSI UNIB) Forestry Department, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, in collaboration with the Forestry TV Team, successfully held a Photography and Videography Workshop on January 11, 2025. The event, which started at 08.00 WIB, featured an experienced speaker, Sofian, S.IP., M.Sc., an Eagle Award semifinalist, vlogger, and director of the film Gading.

The event was opened directly by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Hesti Pujiwati, SP., M.Sc., who, in her speech, conveyed the importance of mastering photography and videography skills in the digital era, especially for students. She hopes this activity can motivate participants to continue working through visual media.

In his speech, Prof. Agus Susatya, representing the head of the forestry department, expressed his appreciation to the committee and participants who had participated and hoped that the knowledge gained from this workshop could be applied to support various academic and non-academic activities.

The workshop was also attended by the advisors of HIMA SYLVA, namely Hefri Oktoyoki, S.Hut., M.Si., Ir. Deselina, MP, and Amelia Dwi Susanti, S.Hut., M.Si., fully supported the event’s success.

The workshop session was interactive, with Sofian sharing experiences and practical techniques for using cameras and smartphones to produce quality photos and videos. Participants were also allowed to practice the various techniques taught, ranging from lighting settings and composition to basic editing.

This workshop inspired participants to be more creative in exploring the potential of photography and videography, especially in the context of forestry and environmental activities. It also strengthened the relationship between students and lecturers in a productive and enthusiastic learning atmosphere.
