HIMA SYLVA Organizes PKM 2025 Workshop: Preparing Forestry Students for National Achievements

Bengkulu, February 8, 2025 – The Forestry Student Association (Himpunan Mahasiswa Sylva – HIMA Sylva) of FP UNIB successfully organized the Sylva Goes to PKM 2025 Workshop on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at GB 1, Room 04. The event aimed to guide students in drafting proposals for the Student Creativity Program (Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa—PKM), enhancing their chances of passing the selection process and securing funding from DIKTI.

The event was attended by HIMA Sylva advisors Hefri Oktoyoki, S.Hut., M.Si., Ir. Deselina, MP., and the Forestry Study Program Coordinator, M. Fajrin Hidayat, S.Hut., M.Si. The Vice Dean for Resources, Dr. Suharyanto, S.Pt., M.Si., was also present to deliver a speech and officially inaugurate the event.

Farid Turabi Ikhsan, Head of the PSDA Division of HIMA Sylva, stated in his report that they have set ambitious targets for national achievements among forestry students in 2025. He emphasized their commitment to working hard and collaborating to achieve these goals.

In his address, Hefri Oktoyoki, S.Hut., M.Si. emphasized the importance of intensive mentoring to achieve the goals set in the HIMA Sylva work program two weeks prior. He stressed the necessity of ensuring at least three PKM proposals secure DIKTI funding and underscored the importance of designing an intensive mentoring model to achieve further academic accomplishments.

Meanwhile, Ir. Deselina, MP., motivated students by highlighting the significance of soft skills as essential assets for their future. She asserted that developing interpersonal and leadership skills must complement academic success.

M. Fajrin Hidayat, S.Hut., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for HIMA Sylva’s efforts to foster student achievements. He stated that student accomplishments contribute significantly to the Key Performance Indicators (IKU) of the Forestry Study Program at Bengkulu University.

Dr. Suharyanto, S.Pt., M.Si. further emphasized that students’ success in the PKM program depends not only on creative ideas but also on diligence, collaboration, and strategic proposal writing. He reaffirmed the Faculty of Agriculture’s commitment to supporting students in achieving both national and international recognition. Moreover, he encouraged students to persevere in developing innovative ideas and actively participate in academic and extracurricular programs.

The workshop featured a keynote speaker, Selly Ratna Sari, S.Pi., M.Si., an academic from the Department of Industrial Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Bengkulu University. During her session, she provided in-depth insights into crafting high-quality PKM proposals.

Following the primary session, the event continued with an intensive coaching clinic on PKM proposal writing in the afternoon, allowing forestry students to receive direct mentorship in developing their proposals. This initiative aimed to increase their chances of securing DIKTI funding.

With the success of this event, it is hoped that Forestry students involved in HIMA Sylva will be better prepared to tackle the challenges of PKM 2025 and achieve higher academic excellence at the national level.
