HIMAILKA collaborated with SIRARA Fishing Team: Coastal Vegetation Planting and Regional Fishing Competition Event in Bengkulu

The tree is a living organism which has a million benefits for human sustainability. It produces oxygen through its metabolism, provides wood as raw materials for building development, produces fruits as foods, can prevent flooding, and prevents coastal erosion by using its roots.

Marine Science Students Association called HIMAILKA collaborated with SIRARA FISING TEAM as a fishing community that conducted coastal vegetation planting which consisted of mangrove and sea almond trees, and also a regional fishing competition event. This activity was held on Sunday, January 14th 2024 located at Lentera Merah beach, Bengkulu city. This event was initiated to sustain the coast from coastal erosion disasters and increase the solidarity among fishing communities in Bengkulu. This event began with an opening ceremony from the head of the Sirara Fishing Team, Mr Mukti Dono Wilopo, then coastal tree planting using mangrove and sea almond trees and closing with a regional fishing competition event.
