HIMAILKA Holds Iftar Gathering with Lecturers and Students to Foster Unity

The Marine Science Student Association (HIMAILKA) at Bengkulu University organized an iftar gathering with lecturers and students on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Auditorium of the Marine Science Study Program at Bengkulu University. The event was attended by all students and lecturers of the Marine Science Program at Bengkulu University as a manifestation of solidarity and fellowship in the holy month of Ramadan. Starting at 5:30 PM local time, the event began with a welcome speech by HIMAILKA’s Chief Advisor, Dr. Yar Johan, S.Pi., M.Si, expressing gratitude for the presence of students and lecturers at the iftar gathering organized by HIMAILKA. He also encouraged all participants to maintain camaraderie and strengthen the bond between lecturers and students.

Following the welcome speech, a lecture session was delivered by one of the lecturers of the Marine Science Program, Mr. Akbar Abdurrahman Mahfudz, M.Sc. In his lecture, he discussed the importance of maintaining camaraderie, cooperation, mutual assistance, and the spirit of togetherness, especially in the holy month of Ramadan.

As the Maghrib call to prayer echoed, the atmosphere became even more lively with the start of iftar, where lecturers and students gathered to enjoy the iftar meal together. The iftar menu offered a variety of dishes, including cucumber and basil ice, dates, various snacks, and heavier dishes such as fried chicken rice.

Subsequently, congregational Maghrib prayers were held in the Auditorium of the Marine Science Program. This was a precious moment where all lecturers and students could pray together, strengthen brotherhood ties, and enhance unity among them.

The iftar gathering with lecturers and students of the Marine Science Study Program successfully created a warm, harmonious, and blessed atmosphere in the midst of the holy month of Ramadan. Hopefully, such activities can continue to be held in the future to maintain camaraderie and unity between lecturers and students of the Marine Science Program.
