Marine Science Lecturer Selected for 2024 Talent Scouting Program

Bengkulu, September 2024—Akbar Abdurrahman Mahfudz, S.Si., M.Sc., a lecturer from the Marine Science Study Program, has successfully passed the selection for the 2024 Talent Scouting Program organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemensainsdikti). This program aims to enhance academics’ capacity to draft high-quality research proposals and strengthen their academic skills.

The program’s initial phase was conducted in a blended format via Zoom, while the offline session will take place on November 14-16, 2024, in Surabaya. The program covers various crucial academic development topics, including:

  1. Drafting an Authentic Research Proposal – Assisting participants in creating original and relevant research proposals.
  2. Critical Thinking and Generating Ideas – Enhancing critical thinking skills for developing research ideas.
  3. Academic Integrity and Interpersonal Communication Skills – Instilling academic ethics and improving communication skills.
  4. Referencing and Citation Skills – Teaching proper referencing and citation techniques.
  5. Research and Scientific Publication Ethics – Understanding ethical guidelines in research and scientific publications.
  6. Finding Flow: Managing Stress for Peak Performance – Strategies for managing stress to achieve academic excellence.
  7. Focus Group Discussion – Feedback sessions on research proposals and motivation letters for further development.
