
Innovative Fishing Techniques Introduced to Support Sustainable Fisheries in Kahyapu Village
Kahyapu Village, Enggano District, North Bengkulu Regency – On May 13, 2024, a community service program titled “Socialization of Innovative Developments in Capture Fisheries to Achieve Progressive Fishermen and Sustainable Fisheries” was held in Kahyapu Village, Enggano District, North Bengkulu Regency. The event aimed to introduce the latest innovations in capture fishing techniques and raise awareness about the importance of sustainable management of fisheries resources.
During the socialization, local fishermen were given insights into new, environmentally friendly fishing gear and methods to increase their catch without damaging marine ecosystems. Participants were also trained on the significance of marine conservation and the principles of sustainable fisheries, which are crucial for preserving natural resources for future generations.
The event received a positive response from the local community, who expressed hopes of applying the knowledge and technologies gained to improve their livelihoods as fishermen while ensuring the long-term sustainability of their surrounding marine resources.
