BNSP Certification for Marine Science Students

Bengkulu, March 2025 — Several students from the Marine Science Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Bengkulu University, have successfully obtained professional competency certificates issued by the National Professional Certification Board (BNSP) through the Professional Certification Institute of Bengkulu University (LSP UNIB).

This achievement is part of the university’s ongoing program to strengthen graduate competitiveness by equipping them with nationally recognized qualifications before entering the workforce. The certification process included both training sessions and rigorous competency tests, ensuring that students demonstrated the skills required by industry standards.

Head of LSP UNIB, Mukti Dono Wilopo, who is also a lecturer in the Marine Science Study Program. explained that the certification provides students with an important advantage in pursuing careers.

“By obtaining this certification, our students are better prepared to compete in the job market. It is not only proof of their academic ability but also of their competence to meet professional and industry requirements,” he said.

The participation of Marine Science students in the certification program is part of a broader initiative across Bengkulu University, where final-year students from various faculties undergo professional certification under accredited schemes.

The Marine Science Study Program hopes that this accomplishment will motivate more students to pursue professional certification, as well as encourage stronger collaboration between the academic world and professional certification bodies.
