Promotional Activity of the Marine Science Study Program, University of Bengkulu, at SMKN 04 and SMAN 01 Bengkulu City

January, 2025 Lecturers and students from the Marine Science Study Program conducted a promotional visit to SMKN 4 Bengkulu City and SMAN 01 Bengkulu City to introduce academic opportunities and career prospects in the field of marine science. The activity aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the importance of marine resource management and the various career paths available in the marine sector. During the event, the team presented information about the curriculum, field practice activities, research opportunities, and the achievements of the Marine Science Study Program, as well as how to enroll in the Marine Science Program at the University of Bengkulu—through the report-based admission pathway (SNBP), the national test-based admission pathway (SNBT), and the independent admission pathway via the Western Sumatra State University Network (PTN-SUMBAGBAR) and the regular University of Bengkulu entrance program

The visit was warmly welcomed by the school community, and students showed great enthusiasm in participating in discussions and asking questions about marine ecosystems, ocean exploration, and environmental conservation. This promotional activity also served as a means to inspire young people to pursue higher education in marine science and contribute to the sustainable development of Indonesia’s marine resources. The event concluded with a group photo session and an invitation for students to visit the Marine Science Department’s laboratory in the future.
