[DEDICATION SERVICE] DEVELOPMENT OF LIQUID ORGANIC FERTILIZER FROM HOUSEHOLD WASTE IN SRIKUNCORO VILLAGE

Srikuncoro Village is one of the villages in Central Bengkulu Regency where most of the population works as farmers. The community in this village carries out various agricultural activities such as rice fields and gardening for livestock. The farmers in this village are members of the Teratai Farmers Group Association (Gapoktan).

This service activity is mainly based on the results of research and research carried out by the PSIT lecturer himself and also as the chairman of the service group, namely Prof. Ir. Zainal Muktamar, M.Sc., PhD. This research-based service aims to increase the insight and ability of the community and farmers of the Lotus Farmer Group Association, especially in utilizing household waste as raw material for making liquid organic fertilizer (POC).

At the same time as the publication of this news, the Community Service Team and the Farmers Group are making Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) mainly made from household waste. This service begins with collecting raw materials from household waste from the community. Furthermore, the manufacture of liquid organic fertilizer using Anaerobic Composting Tongs (Taposan) is carried out for approximately four months, starting from July to October 2022.

 

 

Team with Sri Kuncoro Village Community

This Service Team is chaired by Prof. Ir. Zainal Muktamar, M.Sc., PhD and consists of Mrs Anandyawati, S.P., M.Sc., Mr Agung Trisusilo, S.P., M.P., and Kartika Utami, S.P., M.Sc. In its activities, this community service team provides socialization and knowledge sharing on making POC formulations on a household scale and testing several horticultural plants in the field.
