Mangrove planting in the Proboscis Monkey (Bekantan) Conservation and Mangrove Park on Curiak Island, South Kalimantan

On November 4 2023, Pepsili members visited Curiak Island. On this island, Pepsili members learned how proboscis monkey conservation is carried out. This conservation has succeeded in increasing the population of proboscis monkeys on Curiak Island, from a dozen to around 40 individuals. This success is due to the development of mangroves which are the habitat of proboscis monkeys. On this occasion, Pepsili members, including Pepsili members from Bengkulu University, have planted mangroves. The plan is that planting will continue for 1 month so that the mangrove planting target is achieved.
