Student from Marine Science Study Program Selected for Green Leadership Indonesia Batch 3

Bengkulu, September 27, 2023 – Marine Science Study Program, University of Bengkulu is proud to announce that one of the students has been selected to participate in the Green Leadership Indonesia Batch 3 program.

Green Leadership Indonesia (GLI) is an initiative launched by the Indonesian Green Institute (Institut Hijau Indonesia or IHI) with support from HuMa (Association for Community and Ecological-Based Law Reform), KNTI (Traditional Indonesian Fisherfolk Union), WALHI (Indonesian Forum for Environment), and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan or KLHK). The program aims to educate young individuals as future leaders with a perspective on social and ecological justice and strong leadership skills in environmental conservation.

GLI participants come from diverse backgrounds, including students from the Marine Science Study Program at University of Bengkulu, and they will undergo an intensive educational program over several months, including interactive classes, workshops, mentoring, focus group discussions, policy dialogues, and various initiative activities.

Green Leadership Indonesia 2023

The student from the Marine Science Study Program selected to be part of Green Leadership Indonesia Batch 3 is Arnold Willyarto (E1I023022). He has successfully passed a rigorous selection process and will join a group of young individuals aged 18-27 who have a strong interest in environmental issues. Arnold will represent Universitas Bengkulu in this program, and it is hoped that his experience and knowledge will make a positive contribution to environmental conservation efforts.

During the GLI program, Arnold and his peers will receive instruction from national and international speakers on various aspects of environmental issues and sustainable leadership. They will also participate in various activities to facilitate the growth of new leaders with perspectives on social and ecological justice.

Marine Scince Study Program congratulates Arnold Willyarto on his achievement and hopes that this experience will inspire and equip him with profound knowledge to contribute to environmental preservation efforts. May his participation in Green Leadership Indonesia Batch 3 be a meaningful first step in building a greener and more sustainable future.
