Marine Science Lecturers Planning the Marine Conservation Area in Mukomuko

The Marine Science Study Program assists the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Service in establishing Regional Marine Conservation Areas in Mukomuko Regency. Three lecturers, namely Ayub Sugara, Nur Lina Maratana Nabiu, and Nella Tri Agustini conducted field observations to confirm the location of the KKPD that would be determined.
Mukomuko Regency is one of the districts that has coastal, beach and sea areas in Bengkulu Province. Mukomuko Regency has a coastline with a length of ±98.218 km with a sea area of ±727.60 km2 and has abundant marine and coastal resource potential. Mukomuko Regency has a turtle conservation area located in Retak Ilir Village, Ipuh District as an effort to save one of the endangered animals. This area is also an effort to secure the Air Itam Nature Tourism Park which was launched by the Mukomuko Regency Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Service. In 2010, the Mukomuko Regency Government established Mukomuko Regency Regional Regulation Number 4 of 2010 concerning Regional Marine Conservation Areas (Management of Turtle Conservation Areas in Mukomuko Regency). In this area, turtles are the target biota for the KKPD in Mukomuko Regency. It is hoped that the preparation of this KKPD document will determine the zoning of coastal and marine management areas in the Mukomuko Regency Regional Water Conservation Area. Apart from that, a management profile for the Mukomuko Regency Regional Water Conservation Area can be compiled.
