
Marine Science Students Attend Farewell and Welcome Event for Merdeka Student Exchange 4.
The Student Exchange Program Merdeka is a mobility program for students lasting one semester to gain learning experiences at universities in Indonesia while strengthening unity in diversity.
On Wednesday, January 26, 2024, at the Rectorate Building of Bengkulu University, a farewell and welcome event was held for the outbound and inbound students who had completed the Merdeka Student Exchange 4 (PMM4). The Marine Science study program had 13 students who completed PMM4, including nine from the 2021 cohort and four from the 2022 cohort. Out of the 13 students, they were headed to 7 universities, namely Padjadjaran University, Bogor Agricultural Institute, Jendral Soedirman University, Mataram University, Nusa Cendana University, Trunojoyo Madura University, and Lambung Mangkurat University.
The event took place from 08:00 to 10:00 am. The program commenced with opening remarks, beginning with Dr Yulian Fauzi, S.Sc., M.Sc., the Head of LPMPP Bengkulu University, followed by Prof. Dr Candra Irawan, S.H., M.Hum., the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs. The third speech was delivered by a representative of outbound students from Bengkulu University, and an inbound student from Bengkulu University gave the fourth speech.
This event marked a significant moment in fostering international collaboration and cultural exchange, providing students with valuable insights and skills that extend beyond the classroom. The speeches emphasized the importance of this program in promoting unity and understanding among students from diverse backgrounds, contributing to the broader goal of building a globally-minded and interconnected academic community.
