INDEPENDENT COMMUNITY SERVICE: SOCIALIZATION OF THE DANGERS OF HOUSEHOLD DOMESTIC WASTE FOR COASTAL AND MARINE ECOSYSTEM

On May 13, 2024, an independent community service was carried out with the title “Socialization of the Dangers of Domestic Waste in Households for Coastal and Marine Ecosystems”. This community service was carried out at SMP 18 Kahyapu which was the only junior high school in Kahyapu Village. This junior high school has limited facilities and information about the dangers of domestic waste from households. Junior High School students were chosen because junior high school students who were still teenagers was perceived to be able to disseminate good information to parents and other communities. This socialization contains material on the dangers of household domestic waste to ecosystems and biota in the coastal and marine environment. The service team prepared material that would be described about various countries that contribute marine plastic waste, various types of household waste, the influence of household waste on the marine ecosystem, and what steps would taken to reduce waste
