Heavy Metal Pollution On The Coast Public Lecture
The Marine Science Study Program at the University of Bengkulu recently held a public lecture on the critical issue of heavy metal pollution along coastal ecosystems. The lecture, led by Dr. Vivin, an expert in marine pollution, addressed the sources and severe impacts of heavy metals like lead, mercury, and cadmium on marine life and human health. The speaker emphasized the urgent need for better waste management practices and stricter regulations to prevent further contamination, as well as the importance of restoring affected areas to protect Indonesia’s coastal biodiversity and communities dependent on these resources.
