Integrated Coastal Area Management Public Lecture
The Marine Science Study Program at the University of Bengkulu recently conducted a public lecture on Integrated Coastal Area Management (ICAM), emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices in coastal development. Led by Kris Handoko, an expert in coastal resource management, the session provided valuable insights into the principles and strategies of ICAM, including stakeholder involvement, ecosystem-based management, and the balancing of economic and environmental interests. Attendees learned about successful case studies and the challenges faced in implementing integrated approaches to coastal management. The lecture encouraged active participation and collaboration among students and local communities to ensure the sustainable use of coastal resources, ultimately fostering a healthier marine environment and resilient coastal communities.
