
Marine Science Lecturers Participate in Laboratory Occupational Health and Safety (K3) Competency Certification at Universitas Bengkulu
Bengkulu — Lecturers from the Marine Science Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Bengkulu, participated in the Laboratory Occupational Health and Safety (K3 Laboratorium) Competency Certification Program organized under the Generasi Literasi Teknologi (GLT) Universitas Bengkulu initiative. The certification activity was conducted on 25–27 September 2025 at Universitas Bengkulu.
The participating lecturers were Ana Ariasari, S.Pi., M.Sc., Anggini Fuji Astuti, S.Si., M.Si., and Yenni Putri Sari, S.Pi., M.Sc. Their participation reflects the Marine Science Study Program’s commitment to strengthening laboratory safety standards and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations in academic laboratories.

The K3 Laboratory Competency Certification aims to enhance participants’ knowledge and practical skills related to laboratory safety management, including hazard identification, risk assessment, emergency response procedures, safe handling of chemicals and equipment, and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) in laboratory activities.
Through this certification program, the lecturers are expected to apply K3 principles consistently in teaching, research, and student supervision activities conducted in laboratories. The certification also supports the improvement of laboratory governance and contributes to creating a safe, secure, and conducive learning and research environment at Universitas Bengkulu.
Participation in the K3 Laboratory Competency Certification aligns with Universitas Bengkulu’s efforts to strengthen human resource capacity, promote a culture of safety, and support quality assurance in higher education. The Marine Science Study Program remains committed to continuous professional development for its academic staff in support of sustainable and responsible marine science education and research.
