Marine Science Study Program Supports the Proposal for the Establishment of the Department of Marine and Fisheries

The Marine Science Study Program of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Bengkulu, organized an agenda related to the proposal for the establishment of the Department of Marine and Fisheries as part of efforts to strengthen academic institutions in the marine and fisheries sector. This activity served as a forum to present the academic and institutional readiness of the Marine Science Study Program in supporting the formation of the new department.

During the agenda, the background, urgency, and future prospects of marine and fisheries education at Universitas Bengkulu were presented, including the availability of qualified human resources, curriculum development, facilities, as well as ongoing research and community service activities. The event also featured discussions and strategic input from faculty and university leaders to further refine the proposed establishment.

Through this agenda, the Marine Science Study Program is expected to play a strategic role in enhancing the quality of education, research, and community service, while supporting sustainable marine and fisheries resource management and strengthening institutional competitiveness at both national and international levels.
