Socialization of Social Media Utilization as a Digital Marketing and Promotion Strategy to Increase the Tourist Attraction of Lubuk Munik, North Bengkulu

This community service activity aims to increase the capacity of the Dewi Buiser Tourism Group (Pokdarwis) in utilizing social media as a digital marketing strategy and tourism promotion in Lubuk Munik. The main problems faced by partners were the suboptimal use of social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok for tourism promotion, low creative content creation skills, and the lack of active and sustainable digital promotion management.
The activity was implemented in a participatory, educational, and applied manner through observation, outreach, training, mentoring, and evaluation. The outreach focused on understanding digital marketing concepts, tourism branding strategies, and the importance of social media in promoting tourist destinations. This was followed by training and hands-on practice in social media management, photo and video-based promotional content creation, simple editing, and content planning to support consistent tourism promotion.
The expected outputs of this activity include an Implementation Agreement (IA), articles in electronic media, and intellectual property rights (IPR) for scientific posters. Furthermore, this activity is expected to improve partners’ skills in managing tourism social media, increase digital promotional activities, and expand the reach of Lubuk Munik tourism promotions, thereby enhancing its appeal and supporting the economic development of the surrounding community.
