Oxford University Research Team and UPLB Philippines Collaborate with Faperta Research Team

Dr Chris Thorogood from the University of Oxford and Prof. Pasto L Malbrigo from UPLB Philippines returned to the UNIB Campus to carry out several joint activities at the Faculty of Agriculture, Bengkulu University. They collaborated with UNIB academics and researchers; Prof. Agus Susatya and his team carried out several activities, including International Guest Lecturer, field visits to the Rafflesia flower habitat, as well as holding discussions on podcast media about learning in the Department of Forestry, Faculty of Agriculture, UNIB. While at UNIB, the two international researchers also held meetings and discussions with the Dean of the UNIB Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dwi Wahyuni Ganefianti, along with the Deputy Deans, with the leadership of the UNIB Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) and with the UPT of the UNIB International Cooperation and Services Office (KSLI).

One of the activities that will be held in Dr Chris Thorogood will be the Keynote Speaker at the International Conference, which will be held by LPPM in 2024. Dean of the UNIB Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dwi Wahyuni Ganefianti, welcomed and appreciated the increase in international collaboration activities between the University of Oxford, UPLB Philippines, and the University of Bengkulu. Apart from increasing the sharing of information and knowledge, especially regarding the focus of the research carried out, this international collaboration activity is also expected to increase the capacity for international relations, which has implications for achieving institutional Key Performance Indicators (IKU), especially regarding foreign lecturers and researchers working on the UNIB campus.
