The Vice Dean for Student Affairs Opens the 2024 OMBAK Event of the Marine Science Study Program
On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 16:00 to 17:30, the Marine Science Study Program held the opening ceremony for the OMBAK (Orientation for New Marine Science Students) event for the 2023 cohort in the Marine Science Program Hall. The event began with a speech from the chairman of the committee, M. Antonio Fidel, who reported that this year’s OMBAK participants totaled 51 students, consisting of 26 female students and 25 male students.
In his remarks, Antonio Fidel expressed his enthusiasm and hopes for the smooth and beneficial conduct of the event for all participants. This was followed by a speech from the President of HIMAILKA, Jlang Perkasa Praja Utama, who emphasized the importance of OMBAK as a means for new students to become better acquainted with the Marine Science Program.
Dr. Yar Johan, the advisor of HIMAILKA, also delivered a speech. He stressed that OMBAK is a crucial platform for enhancing students’ passion and responsibility for marine science. He also hoped that the entire series of OMBAK activities would run smoothly and provide valuable experiences for the participants.
The Head of the Marine Science Program, Ir. Zamdial, M.Si, also addressed the participants and the committee. He emphasized the importance of maintaining appropriate conduct and behavior during the activities, especially at the Nibung Beach location. He also encouraged the committee to organize engaging and memorable activities and urged the participants to enjoy and be enthusiastic throughout the event.
The Vice Dean for Student Affairs of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Hesti Pujiwati, officially inaugurated the opening ceremony of OMBAK 2023. The ceremony concluded with a group photo session, marking the beginning of a series of orientation activities to provide valuable experiences and strengthen the bonds among new students in the Marine Science Study Program.
With the successful conduct of this opening ceremony, it is hoped that all OMBAK 2023 participants will enthusiastically engage in every activity and gain substantial benefits from the experiences obtained during the orientation.
