
Faculty of Agriculture UNIB Holds National Level Hima/Ormawa Excellent Program Proposal Assessment
Bengkulu, Monday, August 12, 2024 – The Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu (UNIB) held a National Level Excellent Program Proposal Presentation event aimed at Student Associations (Hima) and Student Organizations (Ormawa) within the Faculty of Agriculture. The activity, led by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Hesti Pujiwati, SP., M.Sc., is a strategic step by the faculty in encouraging active student participation in national-level competitions and activities.
The event, which took place in the Hall of the Faculty of Agriculture UNIB, was attended by representatives from various Hima and Ormawa. Each team had the opportunity to present their excellent program proposal in front of a jury consisting of four lecturers from the Faculty of FP UNIB, namely:
1. Dr. Hesti Pujiwati, SP., M.Sc.
2. Hefri Oktoyoki, S.Hut., M.Sc.
3. Akbar Abdurahman Mahfudz, S.Si., M.Sc.
4. Ela Hasri Windari, S.Si., M.Sc.
n her speech, Dr. Hesti Pujiwati said that this activity is one of the Faculty of Agriculture’s efforts to facilitate creative and innovative ideas from students in developing programs that have a real impact on society and the academic world. “We hope that the proposals selected later are not just ideas but can be implemented well and bring the good name of the UNIB Faculty of Agriculture to the national level,” said Dr. Hesti.
During the presentation process, the jury team gave an assessment based on several main criteria, such as program relevance, sustainability, innovation, budget rationalization, and potential impacts that could be generated. Each team was given time to present their proposal, followed by a question and answer session from the jury, which aimed to dig deeper into the details of the program’s implementation.
Proposals that pass the selection will later receive funding support from the UNIB Faculty of Agriculture. The funding is expected to help realize these programs and allow students to hone their skills in project management, leadership, and teamwork.
In addition, this event is a place for students to exchange ideas and experiences, expand networks, and build a healthy competitive spirit among fellow Hima and Ormawa. This activity is expected to become an annual routine agenda, in line with the Faculty of Agriculture, UNIB’s commitment to continuing to support the development of student potential.
Several teams that have presented their proposals expressed their appreciation for this opportunity. “This is an excellent platform for us to test and develop our ideas. We feel encouraged to continue to innovate and give our best,” said one of the participants.
With this activity, the Faculty of Agriculture, UNIB, hopes to achieve even more national achievements in academics, research, and community service. The faculty’s support also shows a solid commitment to continuing to foster and develop student potential as the next generation ready to compete at the national and international levels.
