Open House for Agroecotechnology Study Program Students, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu (FP UNIB) 2024

Bengkulu, August 10, 2024 – The Agroecotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu (FP UNIB) held a lively Open House event today. The event occurred in the GB.1 Building, Room 10, and was attended by several important guests, including lecturers and new students.

The opening ceremony of the Open House began with performing the Persembahan Dance and reading the Tilawah. Furthermore, all attendees sang the national anthem, Indonesia Raya and the Himagrotek March. Several important figures also gave remarks, including the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, Faculty of Agriculture, Dr Hesti Pujiwati, SP., M.Sc., Head of the Department of Agricultural Cultivation, Prof. Dr Ir. Reny Herawati, M.P., Head of the Agroecotechnology Study Program, Ir. Eko Suprijono, M.P., and the Supervisor of Himagrotek, Dr. Ir. Sumardi, M.P.

In her remarks, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Hesti Pujiwati, conveyed the importance of this event in introducing new students to the academic and family environment in the Agroecotechnology Study Program. “Through this Open House, it is hoped that new students can get to know their study program better and establish good relationships with lecturers and fellow students,” she said.

After the opening session, the event continued with an introduction to the lecturers of the Agroecotechnology Study Program, where Prof. Dr. Ir. Reny Herawati, M.P., guided this session. The lecturers introduced themselves and explained the roles and courses they would teach. This aims to give new students an overview of the world of lectures they will be undergoing.

The Open House event was also filled with various interesting activities, such as the socialization of the curriculum and academic system presented by Ir. Eko Supriyono, M.P., an introduction session to the Agroecotechnology Student Association (Himagrotek), and other extracurricular activities. In addition, new students participated in various games and group activities designed to strengthen relationships between students.

The Open House event will last for two days and include a series of activities prepared by the committee to provide a memorable experience for new students. The event’s closing will be held tomorrow, and the agenda includes reading tilawah, singing the song Indonesia Raya and Mars Himagrotek, and delivering closing remarks from the Vice Dean for Student Affairs FP UNIB and department officials.

With the holding of this event, it is hoped that new students get to know the campus environment better and be ready to start their academic journey in the Agroecotechnology Study Program with new enthusiasm.
