Plant Protection Student Association (HPMT) Social Service Camp 2024, in Srikaton, Central Bengkulu

Central Bengkulu, August 9, 2024 – The Plant Protection Student Association (HPMT) of the University of Bengkulu successfully held the 2024 Social Service Camp (KBS) in Srikaton Village, Central Bengkulu Regency. 46 participants and 26 committee members attended the three-day event, all enthusiastic about participating in social activities and community service.

The event was officially opened by the Deputy Dean III of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr Hesti Pujiwati, SP, MSi, with the reading of verses from the Qur’an and singing of the Indonesian Raya song and the HPMT March as the opening act. In her remarks, Dr Hesti conveyed the importance of social activities for students to strengthen the relationship between academics and the community. The Secretary of the Plant Protection Department also attended the event’s opening. Ir Djamilah, MP, and the HPMT Supervisor, Ir. Priyatiningsih, MSi, who gave their full support to this activity.

One of the crucial moments in the opening ceremony was the signing of the declaration against hazing, drugs, harassment, and sexual violence. This declaration was signed by Vice Dean III, Secretary of the Plant Protection Department, Chair of the Student Representative Council (Turko Prasetyo), Chair of HPMT (Arrofeq), and Chair of the KBS Committee (Chalvin Jhosant Ferdinsyah). The signing of this declaration confirms HPMT’s commitment to creating a healthy academic environment free from reprehensible actions.

This KBS activity focuses on community service and increasing student knowledge through various materials presented by lecturers from the Faculty of Agriculture. One of the materials that attracted attention was the development of biological agents for controlling plant pests and diseases, as presented by Dr. Ir. Hendri Bustamam, MS and Ir. Nadrawati, MP.

The 2024 HPMT Social Service Camp ended with a closing ceremony, which included the presentation of souvenirs to the Head of Srikaton Village and the inauguration of KBS participants. This event is expected to continue building a spirit of solidarity and dedication among Plant Protection students and having a positive impact on the surrounding community.
