Improve Skills, Dharma Wanita Persatuan Faculty of Agriculture Holds Fun Gathering to Carve and Decorate Fruit

The Agroecotechnology Study Program is the committee for this month’s routine meeting of Dharma Wanita Persatuan Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu. The event was held on Monday, November 11, 2024, from 09.00 to 12.00 in the meeting room of the Faculty of Agriculture UNIB. The previous two meetings discussed a low-waste lifestyle and meat. This time, the committee packaged the event as a Kupas (Fun Gathering) Carving and Decorating Fruit. The mothers were enthusiastic about receiving material from Mrs Dra. Dewi Susilawati while practising fruit carving directly with the equipment that had been prepared by the committee, including knives, fruit holders, and various fruits such as cucumbers, jicama, and carrots. Mrs Dra. Dewi Susilawati explained that the benefits of fruit carving, or the art of carving fruit, are to make food look attractive and delicious, increase appetite, and also create unique food supplies for children. Carved fruits can be consumed and can be displayed in various forms, such as flowers, animals, and others. To do fruit carving, a special carving knife, patience, and perseverance are needed. This activity is expected to benefit and inspire members of the DWP Faperta UNIB and strengthen their relationships through useful and enjoyable activities.
