Faperta UNIB’s Prof. Zainal Muktamar Delivers Keynote Address at ICIST 2024 in Chanthaburi, Thailand.
Prof. Zainal Muktamar, a distinguished faculty member from the Department of Soil Science at the Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta), Universitas Bengkulu (UNIB), was invited as a Keynote Speaker at the 12th International Conference on Integration of Science and Technology for Sustainable Development (12th ICIST 2024) held at Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University, Chanthaburi, Thailand, from November 29 to December 1, 2024. His keynote presentation, titled “Enhancing Soil Quality through Long-term Organic Farming Practice in Tropical Highland of Bengkulu, Indonesia,” offered valuable insights into the importance of sustainable soil management practices in tropical regions.
Prof. Muktamar’s presentation was part of a series of expert talks by internationally renowned speakers from around the globe. Other keynote speakers included Dr. Shikh Tanvee Hossain from IFOAM-ASIA, Prof. Dr. Yu-Wei Yuan from China, Prof. Jin-Cheol Kim from South Korea, Prof. Dr. Radhakrishnan Manikkam from India, Prof. Tapio Juokslaht from Finland, Prof. Dr. Peter Phongphaew from Germany, and Prof. Dr. Teodoro Mendoza from the Philippines. The diverse group of experts addressed critical issues related to soil, water, biodiversity, and sustainable agriculture, contributing to the conference’s global impact.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Indra Cahyadinata, Dean of Faperta UNIB, also attended the event, showing strong institutional support for Prof. Muktamar’s participation and the ongoing academic collaboration with international experts in the field.
