
FP UNIB Strengthens Its Presence: Three Professors from the Faculty of Agriculture Inaugurated
BENGKULU – The Faculty of Agriculture (FP) at the University of Bengkulu (UNIB) has once again solidified its position as a hub of intellectual excellence with the inauguration of three of its finest lecturers as Full Professors during the Open Plenary Senate Meeting held at the UNIB Multipurpose Building (GSG) on Tuesday (Feb 10, 2026).
This occasion was particularly historic as one of the three inaugurated professors is the Rector of the University of Bengkulu, Prof. Dr. Indra Cahyadinata, S.P., M.Si., who officially attained the rank of Professor in Agricultural Socio-Economics. Alongside him, two other senior experts from FP were also inaugurated: Prof. Dr. Ir. Irnad, M.Sc. (Agricultural Socio-Economics) and Prof. Dr. Ir. Rustikawati, M.Si. (Dryland Agriculture).
In their scientific orations, the three FP UNIB professors presented concrete solutions for the development of the agricultural and fisheries sectors:
- Prof. Indra Cahyadinata presented a comprehensive management model for mangrove crab fisheries, covering both the mainland and the outermost small islands.
- Prof. Irnad analyzed the factors influencing the loyalty and job satisfaction of fishermen in Bengkulu Province using a Structural Equation Model approach.
- Prof. Rustikawati highlighted the importance of biotechnology in developing crops adaptive to drylands, a crucial innovation for future food security.
The Dean and the entire academic community of the Faculty of Agriculture UNIB extend their warmest congratulations on this prestigious achievement. With the addition of these Full Professors within the faculty, it is hoped that research contributions and community service will have an even more significant impact on farmers and the advancement of Indonesia’s agrarian sector.
