On Thursday, March 9, 2023, the Faculty of Agriculture and Bengkulu met to discuss cooperation with the Fisheries Service of South Bengkulu Regency. The meeting specifically discussed cooperation plans regarding tilapia and eel polyculture research plans, community service activities related to making eel fish paste, and student internships. This program is an initiation and will be implemented by the Marine Science Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu.

At this meeting, the Fisheries Office of South Bengkulu Regency was attended by the Head of the Fisheries Office, Mr. Santono, and his entourage. Meanwhile, from the Faculty of Agriculture, the Dean was present, the Vice Dean, the Head of the Marine Science Study Program, the Head of the Fisheries Lab, and lecturers and laboratories of the Marine Science Study Program.

In the discussion guided by Mr. Dede Hartono from the Marine Science Study Program, several things were agreed to be followed up immediately. This relates to tilapia and giant eel research plans, service activities, and internships by Marine Science Study Program students. After that, both parties signed a cooperation Implementation Agreement. This Implementation Agreement is also an implementation of the MoU from Bengkulu University and the South Bengkulu Regency Government, signed in 2021. Hopefully, all plans can run well and positively impact the two institutions and the community.
