Students of Animal Husbandry Study Program Engaged in Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Activities.


Bengkulu, October 16, 2023 – The official release of students participating in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, involving thematic Community Service (KKN) and student internships from the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, took place today. The release ceremony was officiated by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dwi Wahyuni Ganefianti, M.S., at the Integrated Service Building’s courtyard.

In her opening remarks, Dean Prof. Ganefianti highlighted the opportunities that have been provided for students to engage in off-campus learning experiences for a maximum of three semesters, with each semester equivalent to 20 credits, under the framework of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM).

“MBKM has been initiated since 2020, but its widespread implementation has only been realized in recent years,” remarked Prof. Ganefianti.

Providing an overview of the students’ participation, the Head of the Animal Science Department, Dr. Ir. Suharyanto, S.Pt., M.Si., reported that a total of 81 students from the Animal Science Program are involved in this year’s MBKM activities. These students can be categorized into different tracks, including 1 student participating in the Student Exchange Program (Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka or PMM), 1 student engaging in Research Assistance, 5 students undergoing industrial internships, and 74 students participating in thematic Community Service (KKN Tematik).

The thematic Community Service is taking place in the Giri Mulya district of North Bengkulu Regency, while the industrial internships are carried out at PT Padang Jaya Farm in the Padang Jaya district, also in North Bengkulu.

Suharyanto further explained, “The industrial internships and thematic Community Service activities will continue for the next two months, commencing from today.”

The MBKM program offers students a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience and make significant contributions to their respective fields of study, thus promoting holistic learning and community engagement. The University of Bengkulu remains committed to nurturing the development of well-rounded, socially responsible graduates. []
