The lecturer of the Marine Science study program carries out community service activities by becoming a resource person for KLHS RPJPD/RPJMD training
Akbar Abdurrahman Mahfudz, S.Si., M.Sc., a Marine Science Study Program lecturer, was invited as a resource person for a training program. The training, which took place from February 17th to 19th, 2023, focused on the strategic environmental impact assessment document for the long-term and medium-term regional development plan (KLHS RPJP/RPJMD).
The training consisted of three main topics. Firstly, the participants were provided with theoretical knowledge on the administration of KLHS RPJP/RPJMD, the process of developing KLHS RPJP/RPJMD, the methods used in KLHS RPJP/RPJMD development, and the integration of KLHS into RPJP/RPJMD. Akbar Abdurrahman Mahfudz played a crucial role as a resource person and mentor for the practical session on KLHS RPJP/RPJMD development.
The training was conducted online through the Zoom platform, and the method included both theoretical and practical components. The training utilized various models of learning, namely:
- Direct Instruction Model: This model focused on the verbal delivery of materials by the trainers. The trainers explained the concepts and principles of KLHS, as well as the step-by-step process of developing KLHS. This approach ensured that the participants had a strong understanding of KLHS development.
- Cooperative Learning Model: Participants were divided into groups with diverse educational backgrounds and abilities. Each group was assigned to develop KLHS based on a case study. This model aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of the challenges in KLHS development from different perspectives and promote effective communication among participants during and after the training.
- Problem-Based Learning Model: This model aimed to provide participants with a practical understanding of KLHS development through a specific case study related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The participants were encouraged to engage in discussions, work collaboratively in groups, and develop critical thinking skills related to KLHS development.

On the first day of the training, Friday, February 17th, 2023, the opening session commenced with the reading of the training guidelines, followed by speeches from the Director of CV Greenative and the introduction of the resource persons. Dr. Luthfi Muta’ali delivered the first two main theoretical sessions: “Administrative Aspects of KLHS (Pre and Post-KLHS)” and “RPJPD and RPJMD Substances.” Akbar Abdurrahman Mahfudz, S.Si., M.Sc., delivered the technical presentation on KLHS RPJP/RPJMD development, including the preparation and group assignments for the practical session on the second day.
On the second day, Saturday, February 18th, 2023, two main activities were conducted: theoretical sessions and direct practice. The theoretical sessions continued from the previous day, focusing on the third topic: “KLHS RPJMD and RPJP Development Processes and Methods” by Dr. Luthfi Muta’ali. The participants then engaged in direct practice by working on various components of the KLHS document, such as regional profiles, TPB analysis, projections, scenarios, and strategic issues. Under the guidance of the trainers, including Akbar Abdurrahman Mahfudz, S.Si., M.Sc., the participants worked in their assigned groups using provided worksheets and practice modules. At the end of the day, each group was required to present their progress and engage in discussions and questions if necessary, marking the conclusion of the second day of training.

On the third and final day of the training, Sunday, February 19th, 2023, the participants received the final theoretical session on the topic of “Integration of KLHS into RPJPD and RPJMD” by Dr. Luthfi Muta’ali. The day continued with direct practice, where the participants worked on the remaining parts of the KLHS document, including KLHS RPJMD and RPJPD recommendations and integration. The training concluded with the final presentations from each group based on the worksheets provided since the second day. The online training on KLHS RPJP/RPJMD by CV Greenative, guided by various experts, including Akbar Abdurrahman Mahfudz, S.Si., M.Sc., came to an end on the third day.
