Welcoming Event for New Students of the Marine Science Study Program, University of Bengkulu

7 August 2025, The Marine Science Study Program held a welcoming event for new students of the 2025–2026 academic year at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu. The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Indra Cahyadinata, M.Si., along with the vice deans, the Head of the Study Program, Ir. Zamdial, M.Si., nearly all lecturers, senior students (Himailka), and new students, in a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere. The purpose of the event was to introduce the academic environment, learning system, and various activities within the Marine Science Study Program. The Head of the Study Program delivered an opening speech emphasizing the importance of marine science in supporting the sustainable management of Indonesia’s marine resources. The event continued with an introduction session where new students shared where they came from. Overall, the new students came from various regencies across Bengkulu Province, including Kaur, South Bengkulu, Seluma, Bengkulu City, Central Bengkulu, North Bengkulu, and Mukomuko. In addition, there were also students from outside Bengkulu Province, such as from Banten Province (Tangerang) and Cimahi, West Java. The event aimed to motivate new students to be active, creative, and innovative throughout their studies. The program concluded with a group photo session and the presentation of Marine Science attributes as a symbol of unity and pride for the academic community of the Marine Science Study Program, University of Bengkulu.
