Promoting Marine Education: UNIB Lecturers Introduce Marine Science Program to Students of SMA Negeri 10 Bengkulu
On 19 November 2025, the Marine Science Study Program of the University of Bengkulu carried out an academic promotion visit to SMA Negeri 10 Bengkulu. The activity was led by a team of lecturers consisting of Person Pesona Renta, S.Kel., M.Si., Ph.D., Nella Tri Agustini, S.Kel., M.Si, Firdha Iresta Wardhani, S.Pi., M.Si, Lita Astini, S.Kel., M.Si, Silvy Syukhriani, S.Kel., M.Si., and Ayub Sugara, S.Kel., M.Si., Mukti Dono Wilopo, S.Pi., M.Si., Maya Angraini Fajar Utami, S.Pi., M.Si., and other accompanying staff.
The visit aimed to introduce the Marine Science Study Program, its curriculum, career prospects, and various campus opportunities to prospective students. During the session, the team delivered an engaging presentation about study pathways, scholarship opportunities, student organizations, fieldwork facilities, and future career options in marine-related fields.
Students of SMA Negeri 10 Bengkulu showed strong enthusiasm, actively participating in discussions about marine ecosystems, oceanographic research, and potential career paths within government agencies, research institutions, and the maritime industry.
Through this promotional activity, the Marine Science Study Program hopes to attract talented students who are passionate about marine and coastal studies while strengthening the connection between UNIB and local high schools.
