The Marine Science Study Program successfully held the Marine and Fisheries Research Results Seminar, “Samudra Rafflesia I,”

on Thursday, December 18, 2025. The seminar carried the theme “Blue Economy as a Pillar of Food Security through the Utilization of Marine Resources.”

This national seminar was a continuation of the annual seminar series that has been conducted consistently over the past three years. The event aimed to disseminate research findings and promote discussions on sustainable marine resource management in support of food security.

The seminar was moderated by Mr. Person Pesona Renta, S.Kel., M.Si., Ph.D., a faculty member of the Marine Science Study Program at the University of Bengkulu. Three speakers were invited to present their research and insights, including one researcher from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and two lecturers from the Marine Science Study Program.

The first speaker, Mr. Tirtadanu, S.Pi., M.F.Sc., delivered a presentation entitled “Blue Economy as a Pillar of Food Security through the Utilization of Marine Resources.” The second speaker, Dr. Dewi Purnama, S.Pi., M.Si., presented on “The Role of Coastal Ecosystems in Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Based on the Blue Economy.” The third speaker, Dr. Eko Nofridiansyah, S.Pi., M.Sc., discussed “SEAFED—Spatial Estuary Analytics for Food Security and Blue Economy Decision: An Estuary Resource Management Model Based on Geospatial Data and Bioindicators.”

The Samudra Rafflesia I National Seminar was attended by 110 participants from various provinces across Indonesia, reflecting strong national interest in marine and fisheries research and the development of a sustainable blue economy.
