Marine Science Study Program and Bengkulu University Partner with APDI Regional Bengkulu to Hold Drone Pilot Certification

Bengkulu University (UNIB), in collaboration with the Indonesian Drone Pilot Association (APDI) Regional Bengkulu, officially organized a professional certification program titled “DRONE PILOT CERTIFICATION – Be a Certified Remote Pilot!” This initiative was designed to equip participants with legal credentials and professional expertise in operating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The event commenced on December 20-21, 2025, focusing on intensive training sessions held at the Dean’s Meeting Room of the Faculty of Agriculture, UNIB. During this phase, participants received comprehensive instruction covering pre-flight knowledge, flight maneuvers, and a theoretical examination to test their understanding of aviation regulations and safety protocols.

The program culminated on December 22 with a practical certification field test conducted at the Bengkulu University soccer field. A total of 37 participants from various backgrounds took part in the event. Notably, the Marine Science Study Program showed strong participation by sending six representative students: Adi Eko Prayitno, Aziz Ahmad Effendi, Dimas Juliarman, Sigi Widianto Firsta, Syafa Aisyah Putri, and Zulmansyah. The involvement of these Marine Science students is expected to enhance their technical capabilities in utilizing drone technology for advanced research and mapping within the marine and fisheries sectors in the future.
