Monitoring of OMBAK Activities in Pekik Nyaring
Bengkulu Tengah, December 15, 2025 – The Marine Science Study Program at the University of Bengkulu (UNIB) reiterated its dedication to ensuring high standards in student fieldwork practices. On Monday, December 15, 2025, lecturer Lita Astini, S. Kel., M.Si., conducted intensive monitoring of the Ocean New Student Orientation (OMBAK) activities, which were participated in by all female students of the Marine Science Class of 2025.
The OMBAK activity is a vital annual agenda organized by the Marine Science Student Association (HIMAILKA) as part of the orientation period for introducing new students to the study program and the marine environment. During her visit to the field, the lecturer directly observed the students’ activities and enriched the program by leading a dedicated session. This session included sharing experiences, providing motivation for the students to navigate their studies successfully, and fostering camaraderie through exercising together. This comprehensive approach ensures that the field orientation not only builds technical skills but also strengthens the new students’ spirit and readiness for their upcoming academic journey at UNIB.
