The Lecturer Team of the Marine Science Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, Conducted Socialization and Promotion Activities at State Senior High School 4, Bengkulu City.

The Marine Science Study Program at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu (UNIB), conducted a promotional and outreach event for students at SMA Negeri 4, Bengkulu City. The goal of this event was to introduce the world of higher education, particularly the Marine Science Study Program, to potential 12th-grade students.

The promotional event took place directly on the premises of SMA Negeri 4, Bengkulu City, and received a warm welcome from both the school and students. At this event, the UNIB Marine Science Study Program team provided information about the program profile, curriculum, job prospects for graduates, available facilities, and various academic and non-academic activities available to students.

Furthermore, students were introduced to various career opportunities for Marine Science graduates, such as in coastal and marine resource management, environmental conservation, research in the marine sector, the fisheries and marine industry, and opportunities to continue their studies at a higher level. The promotional team also shared information about the University of Bengkulu’s new student admission pathways through the National Student Admissions Program (SNBP), National Student Admissions Program (SNBT), and independent pathways.

The event was well-organized, with lively interactions, including a question-and-answer session, where students demonstrated their keen interest and curiosity about marine science and life on the University of Bengkulu campus. This promotion is expected to provide students of SMA Negeri 4 Bengkulu City with a better understanding of their further study options and motivate them to pursue higher education, particularly in the Marine Science Study Program at the University of Bengkulu.

The team of lecturers who attended this activity consisted of: Dr. Dewi Purnama, S.Pi., M.Si, Nella Tri Agustini, S.Kel., M.Si, Firdha Iresta Wardhani, S.Pi., M.Si, Anggini Fuji Astuti, S.Si., M.Si, Silvy Syukhriani, S.Kel., M.Si, Akbar Abdurrahman Mahfudz, S.Si., M.Sc, Syarif Nur, S.Kel., M.Sc, and Ayub Sugara, S.Kel., M.Si. This event was part of the Marine Science Study Program’s efforts, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, to introduce the study program to students at SMA Negeri 4 Bengkulu and provide insight into the importance of basic science in supporting sustainable marine and coastal resource management.
