The New Student Orientation Program (PKKMB) of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Bengkulu (FP UNIB) was successfully held over two spectacular days at the UNIB Student Center from August 2nd to 3rd, 2023. The event felt exceptional as approximately 643 new students were warmly welcomed by the Dean, Vice Deans, Department Heads, Program Heads, and Laboratory Heads within the Faculty. “Normally, Faculty leaders are welcomed by the new students, but this time it was the opposite, where the leaders welcomed the new students,” said Zulman, the head of the PKKMB FP committee.

In addition to various live performances by each Student Association (Hima/Ormawa), the event also featured accomplished students in fields such as Community Service Programs (PKM), Student Creativity Programs (BMW), Student Entrepreneurship Programs (P2MW), Student Organization Development Programs (PPK Ormwa), and other organizational activists. As the event’s highlight, the new students received direct motivation from Rayndra, the iconic Millennial Farmer of the Ministry of Agriculture of Indonesia.

Furthermore, there were presentations on “Socialization of the Learning System in the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu” by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Agriculture and a session on “Code of Ethics” by the Vice Dean for Resources, as well as a presentation on “Achievements and Organizations” by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs. Not to be overlooked, the event also featured talented new students who were selected to perform alongside the organizers. “We also conducted a talent selection for new students to showcase their abilities with us,” said Turko, a Plant Protection student who served as the coordinator of the PKKMB program.

The PKKMB event was a resounding success due to the dedicated efforts of the organizers, who provided exceptional services by inviting knowledgeable speakers, arranging comfortable facilities, and ensuring that the participants looked neat without excessive ornamentation. Bravo to the Faculty of Agriculture, accurately representing Indonesia’s Zillennial Agriculture!

The live streaming of this event can be rewatched on the YouTube channels of Day One, Day Two, and the Closing Ceremony.
