Khairul Adlani, a student of Agribusiness at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, who was selected as the Maritime Ambassador from Bengkulu Province, attended the event along with all the third-generation Maritime Ambassadors representing various provinces in Indonesia to participate in the 6th Anniversary of the Association of Regional and Coastal Governments of Indonesia (ASPEKSINDO). This event occurred at the Nusantara V Building of the DPR/MPR RI in Jakarta on Friday, August 11, 2023. The event was also attended by M. Luthfi Ali Yahya, a member of the Presidential Advisory Council, Dr Jerry Sambuaga, Deputy Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Ambassadors from various countries, Governors from different provinces, the Regent of Wakatobi, as well as the Secretary-General of ASPEKSINDO and local leaders affiliated with the organization. The celebration of ASPEKSINDO’s anniversary was combined with maritime-themed activities, as well as introducing and awarding 100 prospective Indonesian Maritime Ambassadors who successfully passed the next round of assessments. The participants who were declared successful will undergo a 7-day Maritime School, scheduled from August 11 to 17, 2023.

Dr Andi Fajar Asti, M.Pd., M.Sc., the Executive Director of ASPEKSINDO, expressed his hope in his address that the 100 Maritime Ambassador participants would become a driving force and be capable of raising maritime issues in Indonesia. He emphasized the importance of instilling maritime values, as seafood will become an exceptionally sought-after commodity.
Dr Jerry Sambuaga, Deputy Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, mentioned in his speech that when discussing Indonesia’s trade, the country experienced a surplus and a reduction in inflation. The Ministry of Trade noted that Indonesia had a surplus of US$12.19 billion in the first quarter of 2023, with a growth of 30.68%.Following the opening speeches, the event continued with the official opening of ASPEKSINDO’s activities directly by the Deputy Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia on Friday morning, August 11, 2023.

After the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) and discussions on marine and fisheries issues concluded, the program continued with a cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate the 6th Anniversary of the Association of Regional and Coastal Governments of Indonesia (ASPEKSINDO), as well as the distribution of Participant Cards for the Indonesian Maritime Ambassador School, guided by the Master of Ceremonies for the Seminar and Rakornas, Dyah Arum Sari, S.S., M.Pd., C.ST.

Dyah Arum invited the selected prospective Maritime Ambassadors to come on stage, praising them and emphasizing their significance as the nation’s pride. These young men and women are the future of Indonesia, dedicating themselves to contributing and serving their beloved homeland. The selected Indonesian Maritime Ambassador candidates are expected to be the next generation that will contribute to building a better Indonesia.

The Seminar and Rakornas for the 6th Anniversary of ASPEKSINDO with the theme “Maritim Terus Melaju, Untuk Indonesia Maju” (Maritime Progressing Continuously, For an Advanced Indonesia) concluded with a group photo of the participants of the Indonesian Maritime Ambassador School. ***
