Faculty of Agriculture Hosts Visit from Prof. Dr. Suhaimi Bin AB. Rahman (Universiti Putra Malaysia)

Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Indra Cahyadinata, SP., M.Si, accompanied by the faculty leadership team including Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Heri Dwi Putranto, PhD, and Vice Dean for Resources, Dr. Ir. Suharyanto, M.Si, on Thurday, April 25, 2024, at the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Agriculture, received an informal visit from Professor Dr. Suhaimi bin AB. Rahman from Malaysia, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ir. Marlin from the Department of Agroecotechnologhy, University of Bengkulu.

Professor Suhaimi is a faculty member of the School of Business and Economics, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), previously serving as the Head of the International Office at UPM. During this meeting, Dr. Indra had the opportunity to introduce the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, to the guests, while Prof. Suhaimi also introduced UPM as one of the leading institutions in the fields of agriculture, veterinary medicine, and forestry in Malaysia and the Asian region.

It was agreed that the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, will further pursue these initial discussions in a more academic realm, such as internationalization, research collaboration, joint publications, institutional development activities, and staff competency enhancement, such as staff and student exchanges. It is planned that in the future, Prof. Suhaimi will revisit the UNIB campus to share his experiences and expertise in socio-economics and halal food through activities such as guest lectures or other academic engagements.
