Sustainable Forest Management Internship – Department of Forestry
A total of 67 students from the Forestry Department, Faculty of Agriculture, who are taking the internship course during the Inter-Semester Course period, were officially sent off on Friday, June 14, 2024, by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Heri Dwi Putranto, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D. The send-off ceremony was held at the Forestry Department Building. The event was attended by the Head of the Forestry Study Program, M. Fajrin Hidayat, S.Hut., M.Si., the Head of the Environmental Science Study Program, Prof. Dr. Ir. Wiryono, M.Sc., and lecturers from the Forestry Department.
All the students participating in the Sustainable Forest Management internship will conduct their internships at ten designated locations from July to August 2024. The internship locations are as follows:
- Balai Besar Taman Nasional Kerinci Sebelat (TNKS), Kerinci
- Balai Besar TNKS Wilayah 3 Curup
- BPDAS Ketahun
- KPHP Lakitan Bukit Cogong, Sumatera Selatan
- PT. RAPP, Riau
- TWA Seblat
- PT. REKI, Jambi
- PT. SiPEF Muuko-Muko
- Balai TN Gunung Ciremai, Jawa Barat
- Balai TN Way Kambas, Lampung
In his address, Prof. Heri advised the internship participants to learn from their fieldwork experiences to develop their potential and competencies as forestry students and future forestry graduates. This includes understanding the methods and ethics of interacting with leaders and colleagues at the company or office where the internship occurs. Supervising Lecturers will accompany and monitor the students, who will also visit the internship locations. [hdp]
