The purpose of the PT MHP delegation’s visit to FP Unib was to introduce a scholarship program named the PT Musi Hutan Persada Work Bond Scholarship Batch V for the year 2024. Currently, the scholarship is aimed at forestry students, considering that PT MHP is a company engaged in the utilization of wood forest products in Industrial Plantation Forests, managing operational areas in the province of South Sumatra.

In this scholarship program, outstanding active students from the Forestry Department FP Unib are given a golden opportunity to work in the Industrial Plantation Forest sector upon graduation as employees of PT MHP. This work bond scholarship is open to students from the Forestry Department FP Unib who are currently in their 6th semester. In recent years, PT MHP has only offered this scholarship opportunity to students from the Faculty of Forestry at IPB and the Faculty of Forestry at UGM. Based on internal assessments and evaluations by PT MHP, it was found that alums from the Forestry Department FP Unib who have been recruited and become employees of PT MHP have shown good performance, achievements, and dedication. Therefore, the PT MHP board of directors has decided to extend the work bond scholarship program to students from the Forestry Department FP Unib.

In addition to receiving the scholarship, students will also be accepted to work as employees of PT MHP as Management Trainees. The work bond scholarship includes components such as tuition fees for semesters 7 and 8, monthly living expenses that will be adjusted according to the cost of living in the area, and transportation costs from the student’s hometown to the PT MHP location upon graduation and starting work at PT MHP.

Students will also be given the opportunity to carry out internships and research to complete their thesis within the PT MHP area. In the future, not only students from the Forestry Department will receive the scholarship and career opportunities at PT MHP, but students from other study programs at FP Unib will also be given the same opportunities.
