Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu Holds 107th Period Yudisium Ceremony

On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, successfully held its 107th-period Graduation Ceremony and Graduation Ceremony. The event, which took place in Building C, University of Bengkulu, was attended by graduates of the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs, along with the Dean and Lecturers of the Faculty of Agriculture.

The Graduation Ceremony was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Indra Cahyadinata, S.P., M.Sc., who led the procession from beginning to end. The event began with a series of traditional ceremonies, including the Offering Dance presented by the Faculty of Agriculture Dance Team. It continued with the reading of verses from the Quran and prayers led by Jupiter. In his remarks, the Dean congratulated the graduates and reminded them of the importance of applying the knowledge they had gained during their studies in society.

The event also featured reports from the Heads of the Postgraduate and Undergraduate Study Programs, as well as the reading of the Decree of the Chancellor of the University of Bengkulu regarding the 107th Judicial Examinations by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Heri Dwi Putranto, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D. A total of 275 participants of the graduation, consisting of graduates of the Masters and Undergraduate Programs, were called one by one to receive their graduation scripts.

In this graduation, special awards were given to the winners of the Thesis Competition held to commemorate the 107th Period of the Judicial Examinations. Leandra Faraneda won first prize in the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program with a thesis entitled “Physical and Chemical Characteristics of Red Barangan Banana (Musa acuminata Colla) Experiencing Skin Cracks.” Nur Alvi Syahrin won the second prize in the Marine Science Study Program with a thesis on “Antioxidant Activity of Fresh Sargassum crassifolium from Teluk Sepang Beach, Bengkulu City During the Dry Season.” Meanwhile, the third winner was Yosima Veronika from the Agroecotechnology Study Program with a thesis entitled “Characterization of Orchid Morphology and Identification of Mycorrhizal and Non-Mycorrhizal Fungi on The Roots of Domesticated Wild Orchids in Bengkulu.”

In addition, various awards were also given to the best graduates from each study program, as well as the youngest graduates. Yudian Syahputra won the best graduate this time from the Natural Resource Management Masters Program (PSDA). At the same time, from the Undergraduate Program, awards were given to Leandra Faraneda from the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program (TIP) and a number of other graduates from various study programs.

The 107th Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, was closed with a Creative Dance from the Himaseta Dance Team of the Faculty of Agriculture and song offerings from students, marking the end of a series of meaningful and touching activities.

With the end of this graduation ceremony, the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, officially released the graduates to continue their journey as alumni who are ready to work in the community, bring the good name of the alma mater, and apply the knowledge they have gained during their studies.
