MUHIBAH VISIT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MALAYSIA TERENGGANU (UMT) AQUATROP TEAM TO THE FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE OF UNIB

On Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the Dean’s Building of the Faculty of Agriculture UNIB, the Dean of FP, accompanied by the Vice Deans, received a visit from several teaching staff, researchers and students from the Institute of Tropical Aquaculture and Fisheries (AKUATROP) Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT). This was a return visit after the lecturers and students of the Marine Science Study Program, Department of Animal Husbandry, FP UNIB, carried out academic activities at AQUATROP.
During this goodwill visit, the UMT team consisted of:
1. Mrs. Norainy Mohd. Husin (Institute of Tropical Aquaculture and Fisheries (AKUATROP) – UMT) – Teaching Staff)
2. Mr. Rohisyamuddin Othman (Institute of Tropical Aquaculture and Fisheries (AKUATROP) – UMT) – Academic Staff of the Fisheries Department
3. Mr. Mohd. Zaidi Bin Ibrahim (Institute of Tropical Aquaculture and Fisheries (AKUATROP) – UMT) – Assistant Fisheries Officer
4. Mr. Yusri Bin Yusuf (Faculty of Science and Marine Environment, UMT) – Lecturer
5. Mr. Asrul Azani Bin Mahmood (Head of Laboratory, Center of Research & Field Services (CRAFS), UMT) – Researcher

During this Muhibah visit, Mrs. Norainy Mohd Husin presented at a public lecture in front of the faculty leaders, lecturers, staff and students of the Marine Science Study Program about the UMT institution and a glimpse of the AKUATROP research topic. Furthermore, the IKL Study Program responded to this goodwill visit under Dr. Yar Johan’s command, discussing the draft document of the cooperation agreement between the two institutions in the Tridharma of Higher Education field.

In his speech, the Dean of FP UNIB, Dr. Indra Cahyadinata, hoped that the bonds of friendship between the two universities could continue and be improved through various other academic activities, including joint research activities, scientific publication collaboration, and lecturer and student exchanges. Furthermore, the UMT team will visit the IKL UNIB research station on Enggano Island. [hdp].
