Closed Dissertation Examination of Mrs. Evanila Silvia, S.TP., M.Si, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture as External Examiner Commission

Today, Tuesday-10 December 2024, at 10.00 – 13.00 WIB, the closed dissertation examination of Mrs. Evanila Silvia, S.TP., M.Si. Mrs. Evanila is a lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, currently studying at the Postgraduate School of IPB University. One of the external examiners is the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu, Dr. Indra Cahyadinata, S.P, M.Si, along with other external examiners, Prof. Dr. Ir. Suprihatin.

The dissertation, Assessment Model and Strategy for Increasing the Sustainability of the Palm Oil Industry Supply Chain in Bengkulu Province, is a comprehensive study on the sustainability of palm oil plantation businesses in Bengkulu Province. Mrs. Evanila’s dissertation research was supervised by Prof. Dr. Ir. Marimin, M.Sc., Dr. Ir. Faqih Udin, M.Sc., and Prof. Dr. Ir. Tajuddin Bantacut, M.Sc.

As an external examiner of the commission, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Dr. Indra Cahyadinata, S.P, M.Si emphasized that palm oil commodities are one of the commodities in the agricultural sector of the plantation subsector that is most widely cultivated in Bengkulu Province, both by corporations and on a small scale. The life cycle of oil palm plants is quite long. It can reach 25-30 years, making sustainability one of the important issues in managing oil palm plantations as an agribusiness system. The research results will undoubtedly contribute to the governance of oil palm plantation businesses.
