
Candidate Debate for Governor and Deputy Governor of BEM FP KBM UNIB 2025 Successfully Held
Bengkulu, February 18, 2025 – The Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu (UNIB), successfully held the Candidate Debate for the Governor and Deputy Governor of BEM FP KBM UNIB 2025 under the theme “Realizing Leadership with Integrity and Synergy to Build a Competitive and Quality Faculty of Agriculture.” The event took place in the Main Meeting Room of the Faculty of Agriculture and was attended by various student representatives and academic community members.
The debate featured two pairs of candidates:
- Azim Ramadhan (Bachelor’s in Animal Husbandry, Class of 2022) and Rince Novita Yulianda (Bachelor’s in Agribusiness, Class of 2022)
- Niko Permansyah (Bachelor’s in Agrotechnology, Class of 2022) and Fadhila Muharam (Bachelor’s in Marine Science, Class of 2022)
The debate commenced at 14:15 WIB with an opening session. The event began with a Quranic recitation, followed by the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, “Indonesia Raya,” and the UNIB March. Muhammad Rehan, Chair of P2PEMIRA, then delivered opening remarks; Juni Rahmat Hidayatullah, Chair of the Election Commission (KPU); and Dr. Hesti Pujiwati, SP., M.Si., Vice Dean for Student Affairs of the Faculty of Agriculture, who officially opened the debate. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of student leadership in fostering synergy and innovation within the university environment.
Following the opening session, a group photo session took place before the Master of Ceremony (MC) transitioned duties to the debate moderator.
The candidate debate consisted of several sessions, including candidate introductions, vision and mission presentations, and Q&A sessions with panelists and the audience.
1. Introduction and Vision-Mission Presentation Session
Each candidate pair was given 7.5 minutes to introduce themselves and present their vision and mission.
2. Panelist Q&A Session
This session was moderated, with questions posed by the panelists to both candidates. The panelists for the debate included:
- Dr. Hesti Pujiwati, SP., M.Si. (Vice Dean for Academic Affairs)
- Hefri Oktoyoki, S.Hut., M.Si. (Lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture, UNIB)
- Chairperson of the Faculty of Agriculture Student Representative Council (DPM FP UNIB)
- Governor of BEM FP UNIB 2024
The panelists raised questions regarding leadership issues, student organization development, and strategies for improving the quality and competitiveness of students in the Faculty of Agriculture. Each candidate was allowed to respond with well-founded arguments.
3. Audience Q&A Session
After the panelist session, students were allowed to ask the candidate pairs direct questions. This session tested the candidates’ ability to respond effectively to their peers’ inquiries.
4. Candidate-to-Candidate Q&A Session
Each candidate pair could ask their opponent direct questions regarding their vision, mission, and proposed work programs in this session.
5. Closing Statements
To conclude, each candidate was given five minutes to deliver their closing statement, providing a final opportunity to persuade voters.
The debate was dynamic, interactive, and rich in ideas. Each candidate demonstrated their preparedness to address critical questions from the panelists, audience, and fellow candidates. This event served as an essential moment for Faculty of Agriculture students to gain a deeper understanding of their prospective leaders before entering the election phase.
With the successful execution of this debate, it is hoped that Faculty of Agriculture students at UNIB will exercise their voting rights wisely in electing leaders who will drive student organizations toward a better future.
