Celebrate World Environment Day With The Eco Enzyme Festival
FAPERTA news: Faperta participates in the Festival of pouring Eco Enzyme into water bodies around the campus. This Festival is held as a series of World Environment Day activities which are celebrated every June 5. This activity is also intended as Faperta’s commitment and honest effort to preserve the environment so that the UNIB Campus remains the greenest campus in Indonesia, especially on the island of Sumatra. This activity also coincided with the Pancasila Birthday Commemoration ceremony, whose activities were centred in the courtyard of the rectorate building. This activity included UNIB leaders starting from the senate chair, vice-Rectors, deans, heads of bureaus and authorities of other work units as well as lecturers, staff and students. “Eco Enzymes are the result of fermenting organic kitchen waste such as fruit and vegetables into ingredients that have many benefits for nature and humans. Meanwhile, the benefits of ecoenzymes for agriculture are as air filters, natural herbicides and pesticides, water filters, natural fertilizers for plants, and can reduce greenhouse effect,” said the Dean of Faperta, Prof Dwi Wahyuni Ganefianti, during the Festival. Let’s protect the environment for a healthier and better quality of life.
