Business Model Canvas Training of HIMASETA 2024: Building Entrepreneurial Skills in the Agricultural Sector.

Bengkulu, September 21, 2024 – The Agricultural Socio-Economic Student Association (HIMASETA) once again held its annual Canvas Model Business Training (BMC) for two consecutive days. The training themed “Developing Entrepreneurial Skills to Increase the Competitiveness of the Agricultural Sector in Indonesia” aims to equip students with the skills to design and develop sustainable and innovative business models, especially in the agricultural sector.

The event was officially opened by the Head of the Agricultural Socio-Economic Department (Dr. Gita Mulyasari, SP. MSi). In her remarks, she conveyed the importance of developing entrepreneurial skills among students as a strategic step in facing challenges in the agricultural sector. “A deep understanding of business models is fundamental to creating innovative and competitive entrepreneurs, especially in the agribusiness sector, which has a major role in Indonesia’s food security,” said Dr. Gita in her opening speech.

This training presented an expert resource person, Nur Aulia, who provided material on the Business Model Canvas (BMC) and how to apply it to designing an effective business model. The training session was filled with various interactive discussions and direct practice, where participants were asked to compile their own BMC based on the business idea that had been designed.

This activity also involved a group presentation session, during which each team presented the results of their BMC compilation in front of the judges. Participants also had the opportunity to get constructive feedback from mentors and speakers.

The event, which was held at GB 1 Building, ended with the distribution of prizes for the group with the best business model and a documentation session that successfully closed the entire training series. By holding this Business Model Canvas Training, HIMASETA hopes that the students involved can apply their new skills in creating sustainable and highly competitive business innovations, especially in the agricultural sector.
