
Plant Protection Orientation 2024
Bengkulu, September 21, 2024—The Secretary of the Plant Protection Department, Ir. Djamilah, MP, officially opened the Plant Protection Orientation Program at an event held at the GB1 Building, University of Bengkulu. Leading plant Protection lecturers, including Dr. Hendri Bustaman and Arifacthur Fauzi, SP. MS attended the event.
In her remarks, Ir. Djamilah conveyed the importance of this orientation event as an initial step for new students to understand plant protection science more deeply. “I hope this orientation will not only be an introduction event but also foster enthusiasm and motivation for all participants to continue learning and innovating in the field of plant protection,” said Djamilah.
The opening session continued with material by Dr. Hendri Bustaman, who reviewed the important history of the development of plant protection science. Dr. Hendri also motivated the new students to continue developing themselves in the academic and entrepreneurial fields.
Arifacthur Fauzi, SP. MS also explained the challenges and opportunities in the field of plant protection in the future. According to him, technology and innovation are the keys to dealing with various problems in modern agriculture, especially in controlling pests and plant diseases.
The event ended with an interactive question-and-answer session involving students and lecturers, as well as a series of other interesting activities that will last for two days. This orientation program is expected to provide strong provisions for students pursuing education in the field of plant protection.
The Bengkulu University Plant Protection Student Association, as the organizer, hopes that this activity can run smoothly until the closing on the second day.
