
Strengthening Global Ties: Faperta UNIB Dean Meets KMITL President
In a significant diplomatic and academic engagement, Dr. Indra Cahyadinata, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta), Universitas Bengkulu (UNIB), accompanied by Dr. Heri Dwi Putranto, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Fahrurrozi, Head of the Doctoral Program in Agricultural Sciences, and Prof. Nanik Setyowati, Faculty of Agriculture academic staff, met with the President of King Mongut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Bangkok, at his office during the 12th International Conference on Integration of Science and Technology for Sustainable Development (12th ICIST 2024). The delegation was joined by representatives from China, Rusia, the United States, India, and Bangladesh.
During the meeting, Dr. Cahyadinata conveyed Faperta’s mission to foster international collaborations and research partnerships across borders. He highlighted the potential for further cooperation in agricultural research and education, specifically focusing on sustainable agricultural practices. The discussions also centered on the participation of the ICIST 2024 presenters and the benefits of cross-country academic alliances in advancing agricultural science and technology.
In a gesture of goodwill and commitment to strengthening academic relations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cahyadinata presented a commemorative plaque to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Komsan Maleesee, which was accepted by the KMITL President in the presence of Prof. Dr. Kasem Soytong, President of AATSEA, and Dr. Song, from the Research Institute of Modern Organic Agriculture (RIMOA). This exchange underscored the shared goals of fostering international cooperation and sustainable agricultural innovation.
The visit marks a milestone in Faperta UNIB’s ongoing efforts to build meaningful international partnerships and contribute to global discussions on food security, environmental conservation, and sustainable agriculture.
